As someone who loves decluttering I understand spring as a time for spring cleaning. Now for the first time I understand autumn as a time for balance. Between the long days of summer and the winter I try to avoid there is autumn; still warm days, fresh mornings and cooler evenings when it feels good to settle in at home.
Over the past three months I’ve focused on one area of my life. It’s meant other things have had to wait, or be done differently in the meantime. With a new full-time role in a new city things have had to change. After three months I feel like I now have a firm handle on the processes of marketing, training and mentoring that is my role (a perfect balance of activities, all of which I love, btw!). Learning the ropes has been my number 1 priority and while it will be a continuing process I am ready to bring back the balance of the other aspects of my life.
I continue to housesit, but with the limitations of an all day role in a new area I’ve had to rebuild with a new client base. I am once again exploring new areas, learning new transport options and meeting new clients, both human and four legged. I’ve found myself an AirBnB stop for those times in between, close to where I need to be each day. With this find I’ve had a break from housekeeping and cooking which, as a traditional homebody, has been an interesting experience.
My life is a balance right now that includes contribution and love, some permanence and stability, some diversity and uncertainty. However there is still some imbalance. It feels like the right time to bring back a whole and integrated life that includes a balance of all that I want. With autumn being the season for change and balance, it feels like now is the perfect time.
