And, as if right on cue for this week’s topic, it’s raining and cool and I would love nothing more than to be a homebody for the day! After some weeks I am again settled into a housesit that I can call “home” and I am ready to prepare for the cooler months ahead.
The obvious place to start is with clothing. Although I’m not a shopper I now have a need to do so.
- Staying warm – I am a cold frog and this is a priority.
- Work & play – with a new role I have a new look and I want to keep that. I know there’s something in between a work wardrobe and comfy trakkies at home.
- Getting out and enjoying being in the world – there is much on offer, even for the budget conscious, and family, friends and new surroundings to explore.
A new meal plan – I love my salads but not in winter.
- It’s time for a change – boredom has set in and it’s time to shake things up.
- I want fresh, easy and tasty. I know they’re out there and I will find the one that inspires me.
- And there is a focus on taking off the extra kilos that have crept on over the past months of being in transition.
An afterhours calendar that includes a life outside of work responsibilities. Right now, I absolutely love my work and the difference I’m making. I’m settled. I’m familiar with the routines & processes & I have energy at the end of the day again.
- Taking a lunch break away from the office – clearing the head, appreciating the diversity of people in the area, and coming back from lunch refreshed for the afternoon’s appointments.
- Using the spare minutes for something other than social media scrolling – yes, there are some great articles and conversations that I’m learning from but……..oh, dear, the time gets away and the energy does too.
- Setting up my home space to inspire feeling “at home”, encourage the new meal plan and include the study course that has to be completed by the end of June.
My initial thoughts were to share how I’m getting ready for the cooler months. Instead, I’m seeing how much I’ve embraced this thing called planning ahead. I don’t know why I’m so surprised. My greatest successes have come when I’ve looked ahead, planned for what I want and taken action on it. I think I’m also over the lastminute.com/”I can wing it” approach. Yes, I can and I want more. I want the freedom of knowing things are in place. I want to be in the moment to enjoy the fruits of my efforts. I want to connect with those I’m with and I want to enjoy my success.
