Decluttering the mind has many of the same benefits as decluttering a physical space.
As the work is internal you’d think you might not see any physical signs. Let’s run through some of the benefits and see how that can translate into physical changes.
The benefits of an uncluttered mind:
- Helps sort and prioritise whats important, whats not, what to do and when to do it
- Reduces mind chatter and distractions
- Calms the mind
- Reduces worry
- Provides clarity
- Increases focus and concentration
- Frees the mind to create new solutions
When your mind is calm you will:
- Sleep better
- Spend less time worrying
- Deal with things more effectively
- Start and finish what you started
- Feel more confident and relaxed
- Enjoy life more
- See other solutions to that problem that’s been worrying you
The physical changes you will see:
- Your physical body functioning normally
- That sparkle in your eye is back
- Improved skin tone
- Improved posture
- A lighter step
- A confident energy
- Laughter and joy
- Looking and feeling younger
When someone is worried, distracted or has a lot on their mind you can see that in their physical appearance, in their demeanour and in their behaviour. They can look like they have the weight of the world on their shoulders, withdraw from their usual environment and they can be snappy or irritable as well.
By decluttering the mind the sense of freedom returns and the body is able to respond in many ways, not least of which is being able to sleep again. The improved physical appearance, or the improved energy in the voice, are visible signs that life is good once again.
Declutter your mind, get those thoughts out of your head and just see the difference it makes to your physical body and your impact on the world.
