Out of Kilter

Today I’m enjoying being out in the sun and the extra day of leisure that a public holiday brings!

The busy-ness of my world caught up with me yesterday.   My part-time job is humming along nicely, I’ve started my group Weight Loss Without the Scales, I’m coaching clients and I’m attending a course, with all the learnings and homework tasks that go with it.   And yesterday I was done.   Time out!   Time to re-charge and reconnect with those I’ve not caught up with for a while.

The re-charge was lovely!   I got out of the house, found the sun, and relaxed for a bit, giving myself permission to do nothing.   The coffee shop visit wasn’t quite it though.   Stretching out on the picnic blanket in the sun for a while was!

The reconnection, however, was not so easy!   It came as a painful reminder that no matter how busy and full and exciting my life is, if I want to stay connected to loved ones, I have to put some energy into that too.

The work/life balance got out of kilter, while I wasn’t looking, it seemed.   It’s time to bring that balance back.
