It’s about time and managing the improvements

Over this time of sharing my slant on time management I’ve become aware of what I need to do differently. It’s been very much a time of, if anything can go wrong with my own time management then it’s shown up in all colours this month!

Despite my very best intentions, I’m not as good as I think I am, something my perfectionist self doesn’t like to admit! I don’t have all the answers and sometimes I may not even have the answers for me. It is definitely time to open up to other ways of managing my time.

There is room for improvement and improvements have been slowly happening. This is very much a journey; some days I have great success and other days – oh, dear! It’s a journey of learning, of acknowledging my mistakes and of finding a different solution for my desired outcome.

With each mishap, I’ve learned to go easy on what’s happened and who is to blame. There are times when I’m so down on myself and other times I play the blame game, that it’s not my fault. Ultimately it’s about taking responsibility and taking the appropriate action for the situation.

This past month has been a time of being clear about what works for me. My priorities are becoming obvious and planning my time less stressful. I am challenging my expectations and letting go of the way I’ve always managed my time. Finally, permission to do things differently means I am learning to be productive with my time – productive with my work time and with my downtime.
