By the time this blog comes out it’s a week from Christmas. While most people are madly rushing to the stores I’m heading in the other direction! This week I’m spending time wrapping up my year, appreciating my life and preparing to spend quality time with those who are important to me.
I’m grateful for:
- My health.
- My family and friends who love me as I am.
- My clients from whom I learn so much.
- My car, although having said that, I’m also appreciating the public transport options I have too.
- The opportunities around me, for business, for pleasure, for connection, for choices.
- My life and the way I live it – I guess this is all about the freedoms I have.
This year:
- I continue my house sitting journey – my own personal growth journey about life, about me and about my priorities.
- I stepped into full time and part time work roles, a way of life I’ve not lived for a long time, experiencing again a regular routine, commuting, a steady income and also the energy drain that comes with it.
- I’ve been exploring a regular marketing plan and business actions to go with it.
- I’ve seen long term clients move on, steady on their own, supported by what they’ve learned along the way.
- And I’ve supported new ones and seen how a short burst of support and focus is all they’ve needed to really make big changes.
I’m over:
- Being strong all the time – it is okay to be vulnerable and I don’t get kicked when I’m down anymore.
- Going without – it seems I always do have enough.
- Worrying myself with sleepless nights – things have a way of working themselves out, sometimes by continuing focused action and sometimes by letting go.
I’ve learned:
- To be easier on myself – things happen, and I sometime I don’t have the perfect answer.
- To share – there really is plenty to go around.
- To keep going and remain focused.
- To seek new friendships and re-establish, or re-define, old ones.
- To ask for help.
- To receive guidance.
Whether it’s Christmas, the holiday season or the end of the year, whether it’s summer break time or winter season where you are – this time of year really is a perfect time to appreciate, reflect, regroup and celebrate with those who are your life.
