Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day – a day for romantic love! The cynic in me says, Bah! Humbug!, and the romantic in me wants it! At 50 something I’m past the cutesy romance stage, it’s not about “staying in her good books” as the sign on the busy street pop-up shop said on Valentine’s Day eve and it’s no longer the “he doesn’t love me” thing.

Instead, it’s about feeling love, filling up from the inside, sharing it and receiving it.

Love doesn’t need the validation of commercial hype. It is:

  • A rich source of power that stands alone
  • Unconditional and joyful
  • Strong and steady, even in challenging times

And it comes from within.

It is more than just roses on the day. It’s a deep knowing that “I am love” and expressing the gratitude and appreciation that comes with it. It’s knowing I am loved by the caring & beautiful people in my life, family, and friends, regardless of whether there is a special someone who tells me so. It’s about giving that love back, in all the ways that are love. For me, it’s being at peace and loving myself and oh, what a journey that is!

With self-love comes the gift of receiving. Yes, you are worth it and there are no strings attached.

In whatever way the gifts of love come to you, receive them on, Valentine’s Day and every day.
