Celebration

“You have arrived.” With these comforting words from my GPS I breathe – I made it! What started as a crazy idea has come to life and into physical reality. I have arrived and that’s worth celebrating!

The idea, to travel & work from a beautiful remote country across the world, was born with a phone call from a friend. I was in a perfect situation to consider it. The idea was something way out of anything I’d ever thought possible. I am doing that thing that has scared me forever, and yet it’s as if I’ve been in training for it for so long.

This was a goal that filled me with excitement and it was tinged with a large measure of scariness. There was always only one question to answer – what do I need to do next to make this work? Certainly not what I had been doing! It was time do things differently.

Over the last few months I have taken on new & different clients, said yes to more/different/better ways of getting things done, saying ‘no’ to wasn’t working and asking for what I need (and hearing ‘yes’ as the answer!). There were still things I wasn’t doing and with a supportive team I was prompted to do them and they got done. There were unexpected interventions and last minute problems and, but that’s just life. What do I need to do next make this work? Use the unexpected interventions to create the stronger relationships I want in my life and work through the problems, to the end, to the problem solved.

Life’s journey is an individual thing. I am not the first to travel abroad, exploring the world, seeking new ways of life. This is, however, a first for me; I made it happen and I have kicked some big goals. Big for me, no matter what it is for anyone else. That’s cause for celebration!
