Spring Cleaning for Your Success

This week I’ve been spring cleaning. With the surprise early taste of the warm weather to come it was time to pack away the winter woollies and bring out the summer gear.

My spring cleaning successes include:

  • A clean car!
  • The empty jars and containers are gone! And a few other things I somehow managed to collect along the way.
  • My paperwork pile is gone and I’ve kept only a few things that are yet to be completed. I did the same with my inbox. Now that I’m on top of it all I can see my way clear and I can focus on what needs to be done, not on what I should’ve done.
  • In the sorting out of my paperwork, I reconciled bank accounts and paid bills, ahead of time! Strange to feel this in control of my finances!
  • I’ve handed on books and found I have actually read some of them! I’ve kept the really important information & aha’s using my phone camera, taking a photo of the cover and the one really important point I got from it. As for the ones I stopped halfway – I figured I wasn’t getting anything from them, stop feeling guilty about it and move them on.
  • I’ve packed away winter clothing, donated some and threw out others well past their use by date. I’ve had some fun replacing them with newer versions! Spending without guilt – another unfamiliar experience I intend to do more of!
  • My purse is uncluttered once more; although I have to say with the convenience of carrying the relevant cards in my phone case keeping a purse with me almost seems unnecessary.

There is still more to do and I’m realizing decluttering really is a process. I’ve stopped for the moment and I’m happy with my progress. I am feeling calmer and more in control and I’m excited about what is to come. Over the next couple of weeks I will continue to streamline what I have, freeing myself of things I no longer need, and assessing what I need to continue creating life as I want it.
