5 tips on happiness through decluttering

Decluttering is not just for hoarders! It’s for ordinary people too! Are you really too busy to get organised?

In that case, I’ll bet you’re feeling frustrated looking for what you need and your time’s being wasted – I’m sure you have other more important things to do.

You’re probably also feeling out of control not knowing where everything is and anxious about important deadlines.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by it all here are five great reasons you’ll be glad you gave yourself the time to get it sorted.

    1.  The most obvious reason is that you will feel less stressed, things will be simpler and you will breathe easier.
Just being able to see a clear space will give you a sense of freedom. You’ll be able to think better.
You’ll handle everyday problems calmly and easily.
You’ll sleep easier and for longer – that 2am cold sweat wake up will no longer be normal.
    2.  You will have stability and control. That feeling of overwhelm will disappear and your sense of control will return.
Calmness and certainty will replace the feelings of overwhelm and dread that you\’ve been living under.
    3. You will have clarity and focus. You will know what’s important.
You’ll see what needs to be done when it’s due and where things are so you can get it done by then.
You’ll be able to focus on the task without having to find it first and without being distracted by everything else you come across along the way.
    4. You will save money and time, which to me is still about saving money.
You won’t be chasing up what you’ve lost; this is precious time (and money) that could be used in so many other, more enjoyable, ways.
    5. You will have more time
      – for you
      – for the fun stuff you want to do
      – for hanging out with the people you enjoy being with.

Life does get busy! When it does it’s time to simplify. Take control of your life again by making things as simple as possible.

Declutter and remove the mess and the distractions.

Focus on one task at a time. Make it a habit to put things away when the task is done. (Think “Tick, done, gone”.)

Give yourself a finish time then get out there and enjoy all that life offers!
