Resistance is Futile Part 4 – post procrastination

Over the past few weeks my series on procrastination has covered a few points:

  • What it is and how it might show up
  • Some reasons/excuses/justifications and some suggestions to get you moving again
  • The costs of procrastination.

This week I wrap up and talk about life without procrastination. If you’re still so bogged in procrastination then using your imagination may be helpful.

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Satisfaction and self-respect – a job well done!
  • Productivity – Get more done and see actual results.
  • Time management – Proactively take charge of your time and give yourself the advantage of being prepared and on the front foot in any situation.
  • Organised and easy – When you take action things fall into place. Things are organised and easy to implement and taking focused action is easy when everything you need is on hand.
  • Flowing – Once you’re on a roll things start to flow. The important stuff is taken care of and the urgent stuff is too! You’ll probably notice that there are fewer urgent things, and you can easily manage them in a timely fashion.
  • Freedom from guilt and all the coulda/shoulda/woulda regrets – enjoy life again without the critical voice constantly taunting and spoiling every moment of your day and every activity you are involved in.
  • Celebration is in order and now you have time to do so. Enjoy your rewards, the job is done and you don’t have to think about it anymore.
  • Being present to experience the rest of life that’s been there for you all along. Now you have time you’ll be able to see other opportunities and be able to take them up.

There is light at the end of the dark tunnel of procrastination. Take action, get it done and enjoy life again!
